Abstract |
The gender roles of the Lisu are implicitly compared. Men are like brave dogs that can travel far and wide and women are compared to shy elephants. The social interaction of the ethnic group is regulated by shyness and honor. Sex issues are taboo in the family domain. Sexual inequality is not distinct. Economic roles based on gender do not indicate inequality in Lisu society.
