Abstract |
When men live together, a society evolves and there are many happenings. This is social movement and it causes many changes. In this way, the Phutai in Ban Nong Oyai have migrated from Loas to Thailand and live in Thai culture so they have to adapt their way of life in order to live together with Thai people. However, the mainstream in today’s world exerts external and internal pressures have changed the Phutai’s way of life in their family and community and it is hard to resist. For these reasons, Phutai society has been unavoidably changed. However, the people in the community are able to maintain their language and traditional identity, along with globalization, especially the rituals of Ao Hoop Ao Hoy, the whipping of son in law and Phi Puta.
