Abstract |
It is evident from the research findings that socio-economically and politically a Muslim Thai society is obliged to be developed together with changes in other social contexts, especially in the current complex and fast changes of globalization, the borderless world and technologies. The Muslim society must adjust itself to these changes while maintaining its Islamic identity and lifestyle. Economically, business transactions must be based on Islamic principles. Politically, Muslim Thais should have a role in defining their development directions. These adjustments should be based on the basic concept of viewing values and understanding cultural diversity and realizing that they are an important factor for peaceful development and co-existence. The Muslim Thais must adjust the perspectives of their identity, learn and catch up with changes, and apply their religious principles, particularly on simplicity, to restrain themselves from falling into confusing trends, so that both secular and religious worlds can be balanced.
