Abstract |
Karen is an ethnic group with more population than other minority ethnic groups. This ethnic group has resided in mountain valleys for a long time. They have their own unique customs, traditions, and lifestyles. They have also accumulated their folk wisdom about medicinal herbs that can be used in their daily lives and are in line with their subsistence lifestyle. It is noted that the ethnic group depends on natural environmental factors, knowing how to exploit vegetation for food, medicine, shelter and as economic crops. This type of exploitation has been used as raw data for the investigator to classify and taxonomize local vegetations. Furthermore, utilization and benefits of the vegetation were realized from the study area, including five Karen villages, namely, Mae Lot Tai, Pha Taek, Huay Tong, Thung Luang, and Hae Nua.
