Abstract |
Of the 208 villages in the district, 28 are of Kui residents. In the past, the ethnic group led a simple and hunter-gatherer life. At present, they are farmers and are assimilated into the mainstream cultures, e.g., northeastern Thai and Khmer. The Kui have their own spoken language and oral literature without their own script. The language is classified under the Austroasiatic Family. The ethnic group has had a smooth transition to adjustments, changes and cultural assimilation. There is also cultural exchange and assimilation with other nearby ethnic groups.
