Abstract |
The work investigates recommendations for the ideal number of children in relation to demographic factors of one new and one conventional Hmong communities in Nan Province. It is found that the average ideal number of children per family is 4.13, with 3.97 for the new community and 4.65 for the conventional community. The conventional community is involved in agriculture, so more labor is needed. Factors influencing the ideal number of children are age, Thai language competency, community aspects, amount of land ownership, and the economic status of family.
