Abstract |
The thesis focuses on Buddhist and Islamic principles for understanding the cultivation of morality in Buddhist and Muslim families. It is found that moral cultivation in Buddhist families is based on the Lord Buddha’s teachings and the five precepts for laypeople to follow. As for Muslim families, the cultivation of morality is based on Islamic teachings and the ultimate goal is to unite with Allah. Despite religious differences, the ultimate aim of the cultivating of morality is to ensure that children become good and moral citizens.
