Abstract |
The research compiles folk tales and analyzes their structure, content and the relationship between the tales and society and lifestyles of the Phuthai ethnic group in Kalasin Province. The analysis is based on 102 stories. It is found that the structure of this folk literature includes the beginning and ending rules, rules of repetition, rules of contrastive differences, rules of a single theme, impressive scenes, logic, solidarity, and soliloquy. The tales reflect the livelihood, family, occupation, traditions, beliefs, values, and roles of community members.
