Abstract |
The article focuses on the culture and social structure of the Moken through the ethnic oral literature in order to present the image of the ethnic group other than as fisher folk or as tourism product. The article also analyzes cultural symbols and beliefs from the literature. Finally, the author is worried about the influx of modern cultures and the adjustments made by the ethnic group, which may change its culture and traditions.
