Abstract |
Akha society is a society with patrilineage. One outstanding ritual of the ethnic group is the ritual of the calling of names of their ancestors. The ritual has been transmitted by word of mouth from one generation to the next. Calling names of family ancestors is conducted at all rituals, especially funerals. It is believed that the souls of the deceased will live happily with their ancestors if the ritual is conducted at funerals.
