Abstract |
The investigation compares the demographic background and the social structure of Muslim Thais in various urban, sub-urban and rural communities in Patani Province concerning the kinship system, patronage system and faction system in relation to their gender, age, education, and occupation. It is found that the social structure is based on the kinship system, followed by the faction system and patronage system. The kinship system is found to be statistically related to the demographic background and social structure of the Muslim Thais in all types of communities.
