Abstract |
The study focuses on the roles and leadership of the Venerable Uttama at Wang Wiwek Karam Temple, Tambon Nong Lu, Sangkhla Buri District, Kanchanaburi Province. The venerable has played a significant role in the politics, religion, socio-economy, education, and culture of the displaced Mons in this village. The study also investigates the religious and secular roles that the monk has performed in coordinating with state officials over the residential location and rights of the Mon villagers.
