Abstract |
This research report incorporates an overview of the folk culture of the Yuan (Yonok), who originated from Chiang Saen and migrated to Chiang Mai, Saraburi and Srikhiew. It includs folk culture, traditions, art and lifestyle. Most of the traditions are similar to Thai, but the Yuan still maintain their unique language, the northern Thai dialect. Their traditions are related to animism. The Songkran Festival is called “Lam Duan Ha”, and their traditional dress is uniquely Yuan.
