Abstract |
The objective of this research was to examine and compare the influence of Islamic culture on Thai Muslim students in tertiary education Institutes in Bangkok and southern region of Thailand. The sample group consisted of 446 students in seven institutes in Bangkok and in the southern region. The research findings revealed that 80% of the students’ actions, beliefs and perspectives were influenced by Islamic culture, mostly ethical behavior and students’ activities. For academic behavior, 70-80% was influenced by Islamic culture, while 50-60% was on their livelihood behavior. When the influence of Islamic culture was compared, it was found that the percentages of the influence on behaviors of Muslim students in southern region were higher than those of Muslim students in Bangkok, especially social lifestyles (pp. D-E).
