Abstract |
This work indicated that, from the perspective of the administrators of the college, policies at the state, ministry and department levels on establishing Islamic College of Thailand was not clear, and it would bring about problems in educational management and in school administration. Islamic Studies and the Arabic Language, for instance, were not continuous at the secondary and high school levels, so proficiency tests of the students could not be conducted. Additionally, there was a shortage of operation budget, and students’ parents were poor and thus unable to financially contribute to the school. Private sectors and organizations would not provide assistance to the school. Selection of new students could not be done to meet the target number, and the school did not have a standard hall for students’ meetings and vocational training as community services. For the solution guideline, the researcher recommended that teachers be trained instructional techniques and methods of teaching Islamic Studies and the Arabic Language. As for the shortage of budget, the Department of General Education should allocate a special budget to the school. Personnel directly in charge of a student dormitory should be recruited and public relations campaigns should be launched to publicize the school. For educational needs, the administrators were in need of budget to manage the school. Students and their parents asked the school to offer short vocational courses as well as Islamic Studies and the Arabic Language along with other general education courses (abstract).
