Abstract |
The thesis investigates socio-cultural and traditional changes as well as livelihoods of the Karen ethnic group at Kroeng Krawia Village, Moo 2, Tambon Cha Lae, Thong Pha Phum District, Kanchanaburi Province. These changes included economy, education, society and culture, sanitation, as well as administration due to modern education, local development, and road construction by concerned state agencies. Moreover, there were contacts with the outside world to sell agricultural products to Thai merchants in the district and provincial centers. These activities had brought about socio-cultural changes and adaptation of the ethnic group.
