Abstract |
The study covered attitudes, beliefs, traditions, and culture relating to agriculture of the Karen ethnic group at the study area. The change was from slash-and-burn farming practices in the past to crop rotation farming practices in the present. It was a subsistence agriculture with a restriction on arable land and land ownership. The consequence was that the ethnic group was obliged to adopt farming practices suitable for their land.
