Abstract |
This historical document research focuses on the Mons who migrated to Ayuthaya Kingdom from the reign of King Thamaraja Thirat in 1584 to the reign of King Boromakot in 1767. The Mons migrated to Ayuthaya because of the wars with Burma and they were allowed to settle in various places and regulate themselves. The focus of the study is on the roles of Mon noblemen in both military and civilian work. It is found that Mon noblemen played an important role in the history of that period, because they were appointed to high military and civilian positions. It is further found that Mon noblemen were involved in many rebellions and dethronement attempts.
