Abstract

The research gathered 49 Hmong folktales which can be divided into 6 categories: folklore about life, ancestors, local stories, tales, natural phenomena, and comical stories. The analysis of the text covers their lifestyle, outlook, thoughts, belief, economy, social and political aspects of Hmong at Bang Buak Chan village and Ban Buak Toey village, Pong Yaek sub-district, Mae Rim district, Chiang Mai province.
