Abstract |
The report focuses on the health care behavior of the Sea Gypsies in two villages in order to change their behavior for the better. The target group includes community leaders, housewives, young men, young women, and divers. It is found that the health problems the villagers encounter are diarrhea and diving-related illnesses. Traditional and modern medication is used to treat illnesses. For diarrhea, the villagers understand how to avoid it and how to change their eating and sanitary behavior and maintain hygiene. To treat diving-related illnesses, trial and error from experience is used before the sick are taken to the hospital. Effective behavioral change should be in line with their lifestyle. Participation of various organizations would create sustainable activities and development.
