Abstract |
The report focuses on education and the educational problems of the Lua ethnic group at Kong Loi Village, Tambon Borsalee, Hot District of Chiang Mai. The ethnic culture has been so assimilated with the mainstream culture that there is little left of the ethnic culture. The report investigates both formal and non-formal education. Formal education is at the village state school where cultural assimilation starts. Non-formal education is from parents and monks teaching various topics related to religion, animism, agriculture, and livelihood.
