Abstract |
Hmong is a hilltribe ethnic group with its own lifestyle, beliefs, customs, and traditions different from those of native Thai people in low-lying areas. The objective of this investigation was to analyze the factors influencing the adoption of innovations in this ethnic group. The method of investigation was through interviewing 197 heads of the families in the study area in 1985. The findings revealed that the heads with high education, better economic status, frequent contacts with state officials and urban communities, as well as with interests in and exposure to information from the media were more likely to adopt innovations compared to those with less of the above-mentioned attributes.
