Abstract |
The research investigates relationships and attitudes of Muslim Thai children toward adults (25-60 years) and the elderly (over 60 years). The population was 574 children, aged 6 to 12 years, representing four groups of Muslim children, namely, from the north, south, Bangkok and the four southern border provinces. It is found that relationships and attitudes of the four groups were relatively similar. The differences might be due to different lifestyles and local cultures. In general, the relationships and attitudes were more significantly positive toward the elderly than toward adults. The results indicate strong relationships among relatives of Muslim Thais, particularly those in the south.
