Abstract |
The objectives of this research are to study Tai Lue society and culture and study which aspect of Tai Lue society and culture the Tai Lue people still preserve and which ones they abandon. The result of this study reveals that the Tai Lue is an ethic group which has its own identity in many aspects such as occupations, education, religion, beliefs, the way of life and language. Tai Lue society and culture are changed due to immigration, the passage of time and the environment. The main reason for the change is that some of the society and the culture are not suitable for Tai Lue people so they abandon it, while some is preserved because it is their custom. For example the Tai Lue people use the Lue language to communicate in their community. (p. 102)
