Abstract |
The study indicates that the forest conservation practices of Hmong and Karen have certain similarities and differences. Karen work harder on conservation methods such as forest fire prevention and forest protection. Hmong opt for commercial agriculture while most Karen are engaged in agro-forestry. Hmong said they have been affected by deforestation while Karen people said they have suffered from forest fires. Both groups seek help from the government in allocating them agricultural land.
