Abstract |
The author views the forest co-existence process of Pa Pae villagers in two dimensions: concrete and non-concrete. The non-concrete dimension is concerned with their thinking process, which is divided into two types. One is their traditional beliefs in spirits and souls that are now a combination of scientific reasons, technology and religion. The other is involved with forest and forest conservation. They believe that the forest is a source of water and an animal habitat that must be conserved. The concrete dimension is the implementation of the non-concrete dimension as seen from the forest conservation rules of the villagers.
