Abstract |
The study focuses on the relationship between the self-care agency and the health status of Karen elders in Um Phang District of Tak Province. It is found that the elders smoke and drink occasionally. The illnesses often found include joint pains and muscle pains. They receive medical services from community medical centers or public health centers with an average distance of 2.73 kilometers from their homes and taking an average time of 33.33 minutes to get there. The self-care ability of the elders is at a high level while their health status is at a medium level. Their self-care ability is positively related to their health status at a low level and is significantly related by a factor of 0.01.
