Abstract |
Primary public health care development for the Karen focuses on toilet use, clean drinking water, public health education for children and youths, prenatal care, and good eating habits. The Karen still cannot depend on subsistence agriculture, so crop cultivation and raising livestock have been promoted for their self-sufficiency. In terms of education and community development, the villagers are enthusiastic about education, but household economic status is an impeding factor. In general, the project has been successful in certain aspects due to implementation restrictions of operational staff.
