Abstract |
The study focuses on aspects and values on the selection of spouses by Muslim men, past and present, in Mahanak Masjid Community. It is found that Muslim men selected their spouses of their own volition rather than arrangements being made by their parents. Their spouses should be similar to them in terms of religion, age, education, income, social status, and taste. The emphasis is on love, closeness and physical beauty. Family influence on the decision about spouse selection is less than in the past.
