Abstract |
Thai newspapers present events concerning Muslims in the form of news in the international news section. News contents are mostly about social unrest, crimes, sabotage, wars, military movements, and local and international politics. The content is more negative than positive. Locations of events are mostly in the Southeast Asian region and in the Middle East. Sources of reference are from western news agencies more than from Muslim news agencies. Images of Muslims presented in Thai newspapers are as terrorists, radicals, mobsters, violators of agreements, experimenters and collectors of weapons of mass destruction, and as groups encountering serious economic crises.
