Abstract |
It is found from the investigation that Hmong farmers in the Doi Inthanon Royal Project Development Center have a better income and standard of living, resulting in their children having more opportunities to further their studies, lower rates of child births and deaths as well as migration, but less land ownership. Most of them practice single crop cultivation. However, the farmers have encountered other production problems, such as a lack of agricultural knowledge and capital, low prices for produce, and marketing. They also have conflicts with the park agency and lowlanders concerning natural resource utilization, particularly water, forest and soil.
