Abstract |
Forest agricultural practices are the cultivation of commercial crops without destroying forest, so farmers benefit from both agricultural and forest products. Lahu farmers are encouraged to grow Arabica coffee without felling trees under the supervision of agricultural promotion officers. From fifteen years of practice, it is found that the farmers have still had little participation in the thinking, decision-making and implementation processes. This is because they have not been properly encouraged or they do not dare to express their opinions, reflecting their traditional and cultural background as well as educational development.
