Abstract |
The author describes the lifestyle and physical environment of a Lisu village, Mae Pun Naweh, Wiang Papao District, Chiang Rai Province.
Mae Pun Naweh consists of three hamlets, each located on a separate hill. Household structures are varied, but in general they are similar. The middle hamlet is the most important with an altar of Apa Mo being at the center of rituals. The hamlets do not have heads, but spiritual doctors act as the village elders. Mae Pun Naweh residents are hospitable and friendly.
