Abstract |
The survey found that the knowledge of the Mon potters on elaborately designed earthen water containers was derived from their ancestors, other potters, potters in pot factories, and potter teachers in schools. To record the knowledge, most of them memorized potting techniques while some wrote down those techniques. To transmit the knowledge, it was done through actual practice, demonstration, and evaluation of finished pieces.
