Abstract |
This investigation explored attitude of hilltribes toward forest conservation in Doi Phu Kha region, Nan Province, by interviewing them and using questionnaires. The study findings revealed that the attitude toward farming and interest in conserving forests and natural resources of the respondents were at a high level. The study also presented a local development guideline for concerned agencies to mobilize resources for hilltribe farmers, and to conduct sustainable agricultural practices or forest agriculture for co-existence and dependence without forest encroachment problems. This would enable the hilltribe farmers to generate more income, to improve their quality of life, and to make forest conservation more efficient.
