Abstract |
Topics covered include Hmong feelings towards their life in Ban Vinai Refugee Camp in Loei Province, their background in Laos, their homeland in Laos, opinions on their new settlements, and their reaction to the voluntary repatriation project of the UNHCR. The book also includes a research finding about the majority of the refugees who did not intend to return to their homeland until the Lao government changed its communist political system (1990). Voluntary repatriation of the refugees depended on one condition which was that the new government would guarantee their safety and would support their freedom and economic management (pp. 1, 12).
