Abstract |
There are 5,600 Mon people in Ban Bang Khanmak, Lopburi province. Nowadays, there are some traditions and culture which are different from the Thai community, especially, spoken language, beliefs in ancestor’s spirits and traditions relating to livelihood. However, nowadays, their dress and housing are not different from that of the Thai’s in the rural areas. It is understood that the Mon people in Ban Bang Khanmak have migrated from other Mon communities. In central Thailand, rivers are a main factor for choosing the location of the village.
