Abstract |
In Amphoe U-Thong, there are the Song in 3 Tambons: Tambon Bandon, Tambon Don Maklua, and Tambon Sayaisom. They migrated from Petchburi province over 100 years ago. Now, they still maintain their cultural identity, but some aspects of culture have changed. To fluently live in the new society, their dress, hairstyle, and style of house has begun to be lost; however, the one which has not be changed is the belief in spirits and ancestor’s spirits. It is the overall element that can control the relationships of the people in the society to practice in the same way and to have consciousness of one community. In the future, the Song traditions and culture will become adulterated and influenced by western culture because the young Song are interested in the outside culture and adopt it as a part of their daily life.
