Abstract |
A factor maintaining the Song identity is the assimilation between the traditional beliefs in spirits, and in Buddhism and Brahmism. It is a set of beliefs which can not contradict and does not oppose the practices. As for beliefs in Christianity, there is a prohibition, do not believe in spirits, so this belief is not acceptable. These reflect the gradual change in the traditional world views. There is acceptance of the good beliefs without harming or reducing the beliefs and the traditions of spirits. The Thai Song has chosen, improved and developed these beliefs to suit the present situation.
