Abstract |
The paper investigates the desirable qualifications of primary school administrators in Yala Province in the views of Buddhist and Muslim Thais. It is found that the needs for the administrators to have personal attributes, personalities and abilities are significantly different by a factor of 0.01. Other qualifications required from the administrators include working competency, good health and manners, friendliness, reasonableness, responsibility, good emotional management, honesty, fairness, creativity, good tactics, and the ability to speak the local language. Results from the test on the needs of the residents, educational council members, and teachers reveal that personal attributes, personalities, and the abilities of the administrators are significantly different by a factor of 0.01.
