Abstract |
Socio-economic and administrative changes of the Lua ethnic group at Muang Ka Village indicate their adjustment to the acculturation process between Lua and Lanna cultures. They are both cultural givers and takers without deliberate intention or definite conditions, but from their sub-consciousness. Both groups tried to adjust to each other’s culture, resulting in mutual acculturation. For instance, the Lua changed their shifting cultivation practices to terraced rice cultivation like the Lanna people did. Lanna people likewise learned house-building –related beliefs from the Lua.
