Abstract |
The Lisu tribe at Doi Chang Village has beliefs and rituals in line with nature and forest conservation. Their animistic beliefs dictate that all things in this world belong to the god Wu Sa. There are other gods of earth, water, forest, air, and wild animals. They also believe in protected forests and appeasement rituals must be conducted to seek gods’ blessings, protection, security and happiness. Moreover, they also receive technical assistance and cooperation from state agencies regarding forest conservation, utility forest, community forest, forest fire buffer areas, and reforestation.
