Abstract |
This quantitative survey investigates and analyzes important variables affecting the changing patterns of the economics of the Hmong in northern Thailand. It is found that road construction, time to travel to the market and public health agencies are the major variables contributing to the changing economic patterns of Hmong villages. The finding indicates that the ethnic group is becoming more market-oriented by growing cash crops and buying more products externally, such as fertilizers, chemicals and pesticides.
