Abstract |
The focus of this investigation was on the transfer of ecological wisdom of the Karen ethnic group in the study area. The study took place in two villages: Mae Klang Luang and Ang Ka Noi, and covered contexts, restrictions, problems of ecological knowledge transfer, and a suitable transfer guideline. The study summarized that there were three aspects for this transfer: through family, society, as well as through technology and social environment. Problems of the transfer stemmed from social changes, state management, and new values from outside societies. Furthermore, new generations of Karen regarded that old beliefs and practices were animistic and unreasonable, bringing about disappearances of this ethnic wisdom. The transfer guideline should be based on real-life practices.
