Abstract |
The Urak Lawoi communities in Phuket have been in existence for over a hundred years and they are the most populous. It was found that socio-economic and cultural changes of Phuket have affected residential security of the Urak Lawoi, such as, lack of land right documents despite having been in their settlement for a long time. The guideline to promote residential security of the ethnic group is to seek collaboration from state agencies and private development organizations. A special cultural zone should be allocated for the ethnic group to maintain their lifestyles and culture.
