Abstract |
In this research, the author wanted to know the Yong identity within the local community society and being Yong from the perspectives of the local youths. The investigation was an experimental field research based on the anthropological viewpoint. The study was based on documentary research and observations by encouraging the participating youths to brainstorm to select topics of being Yong in a documentary form as well as to provide them knowledge about documentary production and planning. The author observed everything during the entire process of work of the participants. It was found that the documentaries about being Yong by the youths reflected past narratives recounted by the elderly who experienced those events. The youths reflectedtheir being Yong and locality (speaking the northern dialect) that they were interchangeable, which was different from the perspective of the elderly. The documentary presentation of the youths was aform of reproduction and redefinition, viewing the presented topics as a myth rather than actual stories in the past.
