Abstract |
Presently, the Saba game is limited to the Mon, however, it is no longer popular among the younger generations. It is also less popular with the general public as it pertains tothe instruments, manners of competition, respective rules, the time, and prizes. However, the benefits of the game are to assist physical, emotional, social and intellectual developments of players. Additionally, players are given an opportunity to cultivate their friendship. In general, the attitude of the Mon in the study area toward the game was that it was still important to the Thai Mon. The game should thus be preserved and promoted as a traditional activity during the Song Kran Festival.
