Abstract |
The raw ingredients to cook up the Mon food at Bang Kradi community are of three types: the main dish, the dessert and herbal drink. The main dishes are mostly composed of vegetables and fish, while the desserts are made from locally available fruits and flowers. The herbal drinks are concocted from vegetables and leaves. This ethnic wisdom has traditionally indicated the ability to adapt and use local materials for consumption. The wisdom has also been disseminated in printed and electronic materials for younger generations to learn by organizing workshops among themselves.
