Abstract |
Development for modernization causes Thai society is became consumerism society. This also affects to the highlanders’ society. Increasing of migrants to the city of Chiang Mai reflects the results of the development and many problems of the highlanders such as the land development and cash crops cultivation which have destroyed the community’s traditional wisdom and loosing the local resources management caused the villagers cannot live with traditional way of life. These causes the labours go to work in the urban society and lead to drugs, prostitution and AIDS.
