Abstract |
This article is about the “AwHui”, music and dance of the Lahu Na Shehleh, which emphasizes the relationship between music and dance. The authors noted that the term ‘AwHui’ covers administrative, political and religious activities, beliefs and care. Ritual dance helps maintain the ethnic identity and creates strong social unity in the village as well as establishing a the village network. This article is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on the study methods of music and dance by specialists and experts. The second part summarizes the study results based on the ethnomusicology and ethnochoreology.
